Project Turbo
Turning Up The Horsepower

January 9th 2002
-I got a chance to do some work on my engine tonight.
-I removed the oil pump driveshaft pulley, and got the chain out of the way.
-I took off the rear end casing.
-Unbolted the piston rod bearings.
-Unbolted the crankshaft main cap bearings.
-Removed the crankshaft.
-All of the bearings that I removed looked to be in good shape, except for a couple that had small spots of oxide on them. All the bearings will be replaced as well as all the gaskets. I have emailed the dealer to see if I can get a set of each.
-The crankshaft itself looks to be in excellent condition, but the pistons aren't in such good shape. The wristpins for pistons 3 and 4 dont move. 1 and 2 look okay, but not super.
-The first two pictures are of the bottom of the block, one with the crankshaft, and one without. The third picture is of the crankshaft itself.
